Find information about the origin and qualities of Scottish Fold cats. You will see the beautiful coloring of this kind and lovely animal plus learn about its care. The forward-folding ears of Scottish Fold Cats originated from a natural mutation first seen in a farm animal in Scotland in the 1960’s. A local shepherd became interested when the feline gave birth to two kittens that had forward-folding ears. He took one of the kittens to develop a new breed. A London breeder determined that a dominant mutant gene was responsible for the folded ears. In 1971 several specimens that had this characteristic were brought to the USA, and became an established popular breed. Animal Den - Gift Shop for all Feline Lovers!
