Find information about cats health and caring for your cat.

Your cat relies on you to give it a good home and to provide the best care possible for its entire life.  An indoor cat has the best chance of good health as apposed to an out door cat that faces many challenges such as cars, other animals, etc.  It=s up to you to make sure your cats health is in top shape by making sure it receives all the necessary veterinary checkups and vaccinations through each stage of its life.  A healthy diet, annual checkups, and up-to-date vaccinations should keep your cats health in perfect balance.

Cats Health varies as your cat grows, matures, and ages.  Kittens need to see a vet several times during their first year to get vaccinations and to be spayed or neutered.  Because the body changes as cat’s age, older cats should get a complete physical twice a year.  Many cats start to show signs of aging at ten years old.  When your cat reaches eight years old it should be started on a preventive cats health care program.  Your vet will be able to detect any significant physical changes, look for signs of illness, and make sure your companion is current on all necessary inoculations.

The old saying aside, cats only have one life, they can be afflicted by injury and disease just like all living things.  To safeguard your cat's health you need to know what is normal for your cat, and be on the look out for physical and behavioral changes at all times.  A mini-physical exam when brushing your feline, keeping track of how much is eaten and how much the cat drinks, how often the litter box is visited and any demeanor changes will enable you to catch most in the early stages when they are most curable.
