Bengal Cats

Find information about the origin and qualities of Bengal Cats.  You will see the beautiful coloring of this kind and lovely animal plus learn about its care requirements.

Bengal cats are described by the breed founder as “The domestic reproduction of a leopard“.  The Bengal descends from crosses between a wildcat and a domestic cat.  The origin of the breed started in the 1980’s when an Arizona woman began a breeding program with eight female descendants of crosses between Asian Leopard cats and domestic cats.  She was hoping to produce an animal with the appearance of a spotted wildcat and the sweet disposition of a house cat.

Bengal Cats are intelligent, friendly, assertive, and active.  Some like to retrieve objects, and many have a fondness for climbing and playing in the water.  They also enjoy cat-and-mouse games and will find their own toys if none are provided. The Bengal cats voice is sometimes wild-sounding.

Bengal cats have high energy and would be fun loving for any family.  Bengal cats for pets are wonderful but you want to make sure that the cat you’re getting is obtained from a reputable establishment or retailer.  Purchase your kitten or adult cat from a well known pet store and/or adoption location.  Because there are many so called Cat mills that sell under fed and under nourished animals that are sick and have not had the proper shots, you want to make sure you know where the animal is from and how it was cared for from birth.
