I am a cat person as you have probably already figured out. Cats have always been an integral part of my life. I have a picture of my sister and I playing with some kittens in the grass just outside the door of our house when I was about 3 or 4 years old.  I remember having a cat we trained to stay out of the living room when I was a kid because we had gotten new furniture and my mom wanted to make sure it did not get scratched on.  That cat would lay or sit at the edge of the carpet waiting for one of us to join her just outside the room.  When I grew up and had a place of my own I adopted a kitten, a gray and brown tabby who I named Toby. She was so happy to be out of the place she had been that, when I was watching t.v. leaning back on the couch, she would suddenly run across the room up onto my legs and up to my chest and gently bite on the edge of my chin. She was my constant when I moved to different places, broke up with girlfriends, worked on my Masters degree, moved in with my now partner of over 20 years. always on my lap if I was sitting down. She was 16 when I had to have her put to sleep. That was one of the hardest and necessary decisions I had ever had to make at that point.  I grew up with her through my whole young adulthood. And I would not trade my experiences with her for anything.
